I haven't, Dawn, simply because we usually eat ground turkey rather than ground beef. I think it will work well with beef if you use well-drained ground sirloin. --Star -- Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all. --Harriet Van Horne

Have you every tried this recipe with ground beef? My family has never tried ground turkey. This recipe sounds like it has a nice "kick" to it as well with those fire tomatoes and chipotle chiles. Saving this one to try later!

Turkey Corn Chowder with Chipotles

2 cups frozen corn thawed, or 2 cans corn, drained 1 (15 oz) can cream style corn 1 lb fresh ground turkey 1 medium onion, diced 2 tbsp southwest seasoning (such as a steak seasoning, in your spices section of the grocery) 2 chipotle chiles, in adobo sauce ½ cup white wine 2 cups Swanson's chicken broth 2 tbsp canola oil 1 (28 oz) can fire roasted tomatoes In a soup pot or stock pot, heat canola oil on medium-high heat. Sauté onions and garlic until translucent and slightly browned (about 5 to 8 minutes). Reduce heat, add wine and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Turn heat back up to medium-high, add fresh ground turkey and cook through, breaking up larger pieces. Add 1-2 chipotle chiles in adobe sauce and southwest seasoning; stir to incorporate. Add broth, thawed (or canned) corn kernels and tomatoes. Cover and allow to simmer for approximately 10 minutes at a reduced heat. Add creamed corn and heavy cream, one at a time, stir to incorporate. Turn heat back up slightly and bring to a boil, stirring constantly, so that cream does not separate. -- Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all. --Harriet Van Horne
