Though my son uses the oven regularly.. I still do not like him using it when no one is home... to me these brownies are kid safe. Just beware...they are rich and they go best with a nice tall cold glass of milk to wash them down with!!

Yummy! Thanks for sharing the recipe. I'll have to pass this one along to my youngest for the next time he wants to make brownies. He'll love the faster finish time. -- Lisa

Wicked recipe, Momof3, and I mean that in the GOOD way! I make brownies from scratch all the time, and use the microwave for melting the chocolate and butter, but this is the first I've run into where they're baked in the microwave. Let's hear it for modern technology! • Janet

This is awesome you can do them in the microwave. They look like they came out beautifully. I have to try this now. I've never made brownies in the microwave before. -- Worries go down better with soup. ~Jewish Proverb

So.. I came home from work today and my son made brownies from scratch. I post a picture of the brownies... yes.. they were 1/2 eaten by the time I got home... LOL 2 eggs 1/4 cup butter, melted 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 cup flour 1/3 cup chocolate chips Grease an 8x8 glass baking dish. In a large bowl whisk until well blended the eggs, melted butter, and vanilla. Add and stir with a wooden spoon until blended - sugar, cocoa and flour. Stir in the chocolate chips. Spread the batter in prepared pan. Cook brownies uncovered in microwave on high until the surface of the brownies look dry, about 5 minutes. If there are wet spots, cook 1 minute more on high. Repeat if there are still wet spots. Cool on a cooling rack for five minutes. Cut into squares and serve with ice cream. Now.. the brownies are VERY fudge like and rich. However, it's nice coming home from a hard day at the rink and have a brownie smell in the house
